Note Card Party ~ December '13

Well, my friends... ready or not... Christmas is just a week away.  I'm choosing to NOT dwell on what remains undone, and to bask in the beauty of the season.

Time for this month's Note Card Party!  I can't wait to see what all of you are sharing this month!

Every Christmas, I am reminded again of my love for red, and how I am drawn to it in decor -- and on other blogs!  It's such a cheerful color.  I should decorate with it more -- regardless of the season!  Here are my note card submissions for December -- reds with a little pop of blue in there for you blue-lovers!

Note Card Party 11.20

This week, I am excited to be visiting beautiful Carlisle, PA to take care of four of my sweet nieces, ages 12, 10, 8, and 7.  I arrived yesterday, and today is DAY ONE "on our own" (without Mom or Dad) to meet all of the demands of the girls' daily schedules.  I'm very sure that they will set me straight if I forget anything -- they are four very smart girls!!  Hopefully, I'll have some stories to share, but for now, here's my contribution to this month's Note Card Party.

Well, I missed last month, and I confess -- I'm excited to be linking up again with Vee's Note Card Party!  I was happy to have taken enough "fall" photos already this year, that I had some to share!  We've had some beautiful country drives, and a great morning at the apple orchard.  As always, all photos are linked to their original posts -- the last three being from the same post.

Note Card Party 8.21

Welcome to this month's Note Card Party, courtesy of our friend Vee!

If you've been here before, you know I like to link my photos to their original post, so you can see them in context -- because sometimes that matters, like when a flower photo is actually used in a post about FLOWERS. {A little joke around here, since I use flower pics for EVERY kind of post.}  I do love taking pictures of flowers. I usually joke that they are good subjects because they sit still for me.  This summer however, we have had lots of cool, balmy breezes that have caused me to re-think that statement.  No complaints about that, though!  It's been a wonderful summer.

The graduate (otherwise known as our security guard) is working, and our girl is headed back to school on September 5th -- so we are winding down around here.  Our back-to-school shopping is done -- at least until we learn specific details on the first day of school, so we are chillin'.

Sit back and "chill" with us, and ENJOY the photos!

Sweet Pea - you can view this one on my photo blog.  Just click on the photo.  I was surprised to see these growing wild along a local walking path.  Since taking the photo, I have seen them numerous places along the roadside!

Alpine Poppy - this sweet little surprise showed up after planting a pack of wildflower seeds in mini peat pots.  Interestingly enough, I had planted some of these very poppies several years back, and the bunnies gobbled them up like there was no tomorrow.  Somehow, this little lovely got by the bunnies.  Lucky me!

Note Card Party 7.17

This is a busy week as we prepare for our son's graduation party over the weekend.  Luckily, I had my note card entries ready for Vee's party today!  I don't know how much more I'll be posting the rest of the week, but don't worry note card friends -- I'll be checking out your note cards as I get the chance!

We're in the middle of a near heat-wave.  (I heard the weatherman say 3 days over 90 degrees is officially a heat wave -- and I don't know if we've actually met those requirements.)  I'm not usually a FAN (pun intended) of this kind of weather but I confess, I will take heat over rain at this point.  Lots of people are coming for the party, and I have room for food or people in my house, but not both.  Praying for a great day on Saturday, and trusting.

It's a beautiful, sunny, CHILLY morning here in NEOhio.  A lovely day for Vee's friends to visit!  Welcome.  I look forward to following along and seeing what you have to share for Vee's Note Card Party.  Here are my submissions.  True to form (it's freakish the way this happens every time!), I have one vertical shot in with three horizontals.  Two of the shots are taken around the house, another out in the garden, and one in Mom & Dad's garden.  As always, each photo is linked to it's original post in case you'd like to click back to do some reading.

Note Card Party 5.15

Hello Friends!  The time has totally gotten away from me today, but luckily, I checked my blogroll in time to see Vee's reminder!!

It's Note Card Party Time!

Here in NEOhio, it's COLD again.  Really.  The wind just whipped around our house and made the worst wintry whistle.  [Say that ten-times-fast!]  The past couple of nights we've had a frost warning -- after all of those lovely warm days!!!  [Oh, it's so difficult to feel like we're moving backwards!]  Luckily, our area escaped frost. Hurray!!  The clearance annuals live on!

And speaking of annuals... ummmm, this month's photos... AREN'T - ha!  These are all of our early spring arrivals this year... the perennial favorites.

Usually when I prepare my note cards for the party, I realize that one of these cards is not like the other [hmmm, reminds me of a Sesame Street game.]  This time is no different.  Three of these photos are taken outdoors, and the fourth is not.  Nevertheless, they are all... you guessed it... my favorite... Note Card Party 4.17

Hello Friends!  It's Note Card Party Time over at Vee's.  This month, I have two pretty jewelry shots, and two spring-time seed packet shots.

Around here...

The birds are singing around here, and though this week is supposed to be rainy -- we've also gotten some surprise sunshine and warm temps, so a girl can't complain.  The grass has gone from a dormant brownish-green to very green --with the exception of some spots here and there that seem to be taking their time.  The daffodils are in their glory.  Tulips haven't shown their faces yet... and, well... I'll take some new pictures and bring you up to speed on "what's up" -- perhaps tomorrow.  In the meantime... enjoy the "note cards."  I can't wait to see what you all have come up with for this month.

Note Card Party 2.20

Well, it's that time again -- Note Card Party time with Vee!  She's getting started a little early, and that's alright with me -- since I didn't get to post today.  I DID, however, get caught up on some laundry -- so that's a good thing, right?  But... you don't want to hear about my laundry, so let's get started!

A Note Card Party 1.16

It's that time again.  Note Card Party Time at Vee's!  I'll just bet you're expecting snowy Ohio pictures... but that is not what I have in store for you today.  I haven't gotten out to take a lot of snow pictures this year, preferring to stay inside with a hot mug of tea.  And, the 50-degree temps and rain at the end of last week pretty much melted any remaining snow for a photo op.  So, I thought I'd inspire you with some colorful shots from... other seasons of life.  I hope you're not too disappointed.
