December 8th ~ More About Grace

In memory of Elizabeth Edwards.
What a courageous and gracious woman.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything,
That's how the light gets in.
~Leonard Cohen

Diane Sawyer read this quote on the evening news last night as she spoke of Elizabeth Edwards.  It was, apparently, one of Elizabeth's favorites.  I couldn't resist looking it up at Quote Garden and hearing it again.  Wouldn't every woman like to think that given such trials and adversity in life that she would handle it with as much grace as Elizabeth Edwards?  I know I would.  Unfortunately, the truth is that I have lived through much less - and have given much more grief over it.

This Christmas Season, I'm praying that my life will be less about "perfection," and more about GRACE -- and allowing the light in through the cracks.

Check this out. (Love it!)
