I've Been Found Out

A few weeks ago, our nine-year-old niece came over for the afternoon.  She had come from gymnastics, and so I sent her upstairs to change her clothes.  I told her she could change in my room -- that all the other doors upstairs were probably closed.  She walked to the top of the stairs, looked around, and then came back to the landing and called to me with great curiosity in her voice,

"You mean the room with the teddy bear on the bed?"

Why yes, I DO mean that room.  You got a problem with that? *wink
Obviously, she never knew an adult with a stuffed teddy bear.
Well great. Now my last secret is out.

  1. Ha ha! I love it! I slept with a Teddy Bear for years, even after I got married. It just didn't sleep on the top of my bed :)

  2. I was gone this weekend, so I'm just now getting a chance to read all my faves. I has a favorite bear when I was a kid...my grandma made him. He was patched & worn. & missing a button eye sometimes. His name was George Edsward Thorpe Bear.

I don't know what happened to him! But he looked like this guy, when he was new. Thanks for the good memories!

  3. Oh I do think she'll be impressed with you for having that lovely teddy bear. I have a room full of them. They sit on my reading chair making it impossible for me to ever think about actually sitting there to read. They come in handy for little ones to have a bear to snuggle with. Most of the grands are especially impressed with The Cat in the Hat who takes a prominent roll.

  4. roll? I think not...role. My homonyms are all mixed up this morning with my fingers going too fast for my brain.
